Get Help Writing

Calling to Write is a unique form of writing coaching.  You and I talk by phone and we record the call.  I ask questions that elicit what you want and need to tell, and the call audio file is transcribed into text.  Our conversation becomes a draft of your writing.

Good writing is a dialogue – a conversation between you and your reader.

When you talk, you don’t labor over grammar or word choice.  You feel it more than think it.  You say what’s on your mind and you keep talking until you’re understood, clarifying, explaining, exploring feelings and making logical arguments.  You tell stories to illustrate what you mean.  And you get immediate feedback.

With Calling to Write, I’m the stand in for your reader. I ask the questions they might have and help you find the points that resonate.

Calling to Write helps you:

  • Get your writing done.
  • Get it done FAST.
  • In your own unique voice.

You will work directly with me, Susan Robinson.  I specialize in working with self-help, personal growth, and transformational content authors because you have the calling. You feel compelled to write and you are passionate about the message you need to share.

Calling
Speaking aloud to reach someone or engage their attention.
A sense of mission or purpose.
To talk by phone.

Calling to Write helps you get your thoughts out of your head and onto a page. It helps you quiet the self-doubt and procrastination that get in the way of your writing, and capture those perfect phrases that fall from your tongue like jewels when you aren’t trying.

I’ve been interviewing people and documenting their stories since 2005. From those thousands of hours of phone conversations, I can tell you that people are articulate speakers when they feel at ease. I mean they are elegant, even poetic.  They’re funny and colorful and smart.  Each is an expert in their own experience, who longs to be heard and can speak in rich detail.

Being heard is a feeling. It’s the feeling of connection.  That’s the space we work in with Calling to Write.

Calling to Write is not ghostwriting or copywriting. If you’ve ever tried those services, you know that no matter how good they are, they are not mind readers. They can’t download your thoughts or communicate your authentic voice. Only you can do that.

Most writing coaching helps you develop a plan of action for writing. Calling to Write creates a draft of your writing during our calls, so you get it done.

Requirements
Willing to talk
Fluent in English (I do not currently use any translation services)
Have knowledge or experience about the subject you want to write about
Good phone reception
A quiet space for our call (minimal background noise and distractions)

Calling to Write is designed for non-fiction works.

For all services, the quality of the content depends on how willing you are to share your thoughts and stories, knowledge, understanding, and experience – how willing you are to talk and express yourself and the clarity with which you speak. Calling to Write does not include research or fact checking services. The content of the written text is the information that you provide during our call.

Audio transcription into text identifies each speaker, when this is possible. During our conversation, I may use reflection or paraphrasing. This is a part of natural patterns of speech and interaction, and you have my consent to use what I’ve said during our Call in your work, if you wish to do so. However, the work is yours and you are fully responsible for the content you publish.
